I lost 1.6 this week! I have finally lost the weight I gained back. It took awhile, but I feel good. Hopefully I'll be able to continue losing the weight.

Laura's update
I'm just going to admit it. I'm not very good at this weight loss thing. Incentive is what I need! Any suggestions? I can not get into the swing of it. Every morning I wake up thinking I'm going to do great and every night I go to bed mad at myself. Next week...
Janet's Week
Tiffany
I did not weigh in this week cuz my scales are packed. I'm sure I gained a little, its been a crazy week with packing and moving! I 'll weigh in next week!
Joye
Amy's weekly loss

I lost 1.2 pounds! I'm so excited with this and Bethany's articles about exercise I think I am motivated once again. My original weight goal was 118 so I could fluctuate around 120. But I am now thinking about staying around 125 while I am still nursing. I might change my ticker to only track my work outs. I'm still deciding. Anyways here is to a week of sweating! Bring on the work outs.
Oh also has anyone else seen the infomercial for P90x? Our ward is totally into it and everyone is buying it!! Jeff and I are hooked and want to as well but it's so expensive!! So I am trying to find a routine kinda like that but on our own, plus I have heard you can hardly walk after working out with this video. I was looking at the Biggest loser boot camp haha. Maybe I should focus on just going walking everyday first before I dive into something like this :)
Good luck everyone this week!
it's not just about the weight loss
Who doesn't want to look totally hot? If you asked 100 people who were starting to exercise for the first time (or returning to regular workouts after a long time off) what their main motivation was, the majority of them would say something like, "I want to look good," or "I want to fit into a size __ again." And hey, whatever gets you on track initially is good enough for me. But when that scale hasn't budged in a few weeks, it's time to remind yourself that there are lots of other reasons to make exercise a habit.
Research has clearly linked coronary heart disease, diabetes, and cancer to lifestyle. Apart from aiding in weight loss, physical activity offers a positive, healthy way to release anxieties and alleviate tension, which can help reduce your risk of many lifestyle-related diseases. Exercise also supports mental well-being: Physical activity actually changes your brain chemistry, which directly influences your mood and frame of mind for the better. Among other things, physical activity triggers the release of endorphins, which act on the brain as natural tranquilizers.
In addition, exercise will boost your confidence. As you start working out and getting stronger, your sense of strength in other aspects of your life will naturally flourish. Bottom line: The more physically fit you are, the longer you'll live and the better your quality of life will be.

move it to lose it
Know someone who's getting amazing results from an insanely low calorie diet? It may be tempting to try severely restricting your calories to lose weight fast, but don't even think about it! The reality is that very few of us can stay on those kinds of crazy diets for more than a couple of weeks. And to make things worse, most people on starvation diets gain back all of the weight (and more) just a few months later.
In weight-loss terms, fat is energy and the best way to lose it is to use it. You have to do it with diet and exercise. If you diet without exercise, the majority of your weight loss will be from muscle. The minute you stray from your diet, the weight will come right back.
The only way to lose it for good is to get moving! Exercise not only helps you burn calories, it also helps build, strengthen, and maintain lean muscle. Exercise has another benefit called "afterburn." A great cardio routine keeps burning fat not just during your workout, but for hours afterward. Not bad, eh?
Doing any kind of physical activity is healthier than sitting on the couch downing a bag of chips. Activities like bowling and golf burn calories, but not enough. To see dramatic weight loss, you must do cardio. Cardio is defined as any activity that is rhythmic, continuous and requires large muscles like the legs, back and chest. While bowling and golf get you moving, the action is stop and start. There's no reason to give up those hobbies, just be aware that you must put in time on the treadmill (or some other cardio activity) as well.

surprised
I had been weighing myself every morning this last week and the scale was not moving at all. But this morning when I weighed in at W.W. I had lost 2 pounds! Maybe my scale is broken, haha. So now I only have 1.2 pounds of my vacation weight left to lose. I think that this week my goal should be not to step on the scale until I actually need to weigh in so I don't get discouraged. :)

Lindsey's Weight Loss

I lost a pound. It may look like more on my ticker but that's because I am going to try to do this without going to weight watchers and rely on this blog for the modivation. My scale is about a pound off from weight watchers but from now on i'm going off of what my scale says. Hopefully I can still do this. Less than 8 pounds to go.
Slow But Steady!

Since I gained 0.4 last week, I am basing my weight loss on the week before.
I lost 1.2! I am happy. I am not sure if I said this before, but my goal is to lose my nursing school weight gain by my graduation on May 15th. I see that everyone is getting discouraged -- We Can Do It! Just imagine how fun it will be to celebrate our weight losses together at the family reunion!

Is it just me...
I feel like I have lost my motivation. Am I the only one? What can we do to get us motivated again. I really want to eat right and work out why is it so hard!!!
another tip from jillian
Say The Right Stuff
"You're fat."
"Don't bother exercising today — it won't make a bit of difference."
"No wonder you're fat — you have no self-control."
Would you ever say any of these things to your best friend, your spouse, child, or even a co-worker? No! So why is it okay to say such hurtful things to yourself?
It's not okay! Remember, EVERYTHING goes back to self. A vital part of changing your attitude is changing your self-talk — your internal monologue, the chattering conversation you have with yourself all day long, whether you are aware of it or not. It's this kind of useless negativity that can hold you back, keeping you from being the best that you can be. And now is the time to turn it around once and for all.
Your self-talk can make the difference between self-assurance and self-doubt, happiness and despair, success and failure. I can promise you that if you start making your self-talk more positive and affirming, and less defeatist and self-deprecating, your whole life will change for the better.

jillian michaels tip for the day
Tues: Feeling Good!
Find the Middle Ground
What's your favorite treat? Come on now — if you could eat your way out of a room filled with one kind of food, what would it be? Cake? Potato Chips? Chocolate? Cheese? Ice cream? When you know that you can never have just one potato chip, it's tempting to swear off that food forever — especially now that you're focused on improving your health, diet, and physique. But as many of us have found out from experience, labeling something as "forbidden" makes it all the more appealing!
A critical step in renouncing the destructive, all-or-nothing mind-set is knowing how to walk the line between self-denial and self-indulgence. It is the middle ground that offers the best foundation on which to build your new life. Denying yourself little pleasures such as an occasional glass of wine or a chocolate truffle will only make you feel deprived, frustrated, and ultimately hopeless about maintaining your discipline. A temptation is a lot less powerful if it isn't totally forbidden. This is where moderation comes in.
There is room for all foods, no matter how "bad" they are; it's just a matter of being conscious and careful of how often and how much. It's fine to have a piece of cake now and then, just not every day, and not the whole cake.

not so good
So I decided to step on the scale today to see the damage caused by Corey being here. I am so sad that I did so badly. I am just hopping that it will all come off as quickly as it came on. Over the two weeks I have had a gain of 3 pounds. :( Not so good.
